Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know if I need a 30 minute massage or a 60 minute massage?

Great Question, Always ask your doctor the s/he recommendation. I always like to ask clients this question "How much time are you willing to spend on your recovery"?

30 minute massage are great for people who received LIPO360 only. 30 minute massage are great for MANUAL LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE meaning the fluid will drain to your closest lymph nodes.

60 minute massages are great for multiple areas such as BBL, Tummy Tuck, BBL with Lipo360 Arms and Chin Lipo. These are examples to show you that multiple areas need more time.

When can I add on CAVITATION OR RADIO FREQUENCY?

What is cavitation?
Cavitation is a phenomenon in which rapid changes of pressure in a liquid lead to the formation of small vapor-filled cavities in places where the pressure is relatively low. When subjected to higher pressure, these cavities, called "bubbles" or "voids", collapse and can generate a shock wave that is strong very close to the bubble, but rapidly weakens as it propagates away from the bubble.

What is Radiofrequency?
Radio frequency (RF) is the oscillation rate of an alternating electric current or voltage or of a magnetic, electric or electromagnetic field or mechanical system in the frequency range from around 20 kHz to
around 300 GHz. This is roughly between the upper limit of audio frequencies and the lower limit of infrared frequencies; these are the frequencies at which energy from an oscillating current can radiate off a conductor into space as radio waves. Different sources specify different upper and lower bounds for the frequency range.

Cavitation cannot be added to the butt after a BBL, please wait 6-8 weeks before you touch or massage your butt. Unless you had butt shots or a butt reduction. You can add cavitation or radio frequency after all your incisions are closed. I personally like to wait 2 weeks after your surgery date. You can add on cavitation or radio frequency to your appointment for $30. Please let the therapist know at the beginning of the session to make sure we have enough time.

When can I add on WOOD THERAPY to my appointment?

What is wood therapy?

Maderoterapia or Wood Therapy is a holistic massage technique with specially designed wooden elements (rolling pins) that come in different sizes and shapes. Each wooden element has a specific use for a particular area of the body.

How does wood therapy help the body?

Wood Therapy relaxes the mind and body to reduce mental and physical tension. It also stimulates the organs and stimulates blood circulation and lymphatic drainage for improved overall health.

The first few weeks after surgery your skin is like paper thin. It might take a few weeks to get use to the human touch the wood tools might be too much at first. This is a mind or matter service. If you can tolerate the wood therapy we can proceed.  You can add on wood therapy to your appointment for $30. Please let the therapist know at the beginning of the session to make sure we have enough time.

How many massages do I need?

Everyone's body is different. I don't know how long it will take for your body will heal. Sometimes immediately I can tell during the first appointment if the fluid is moving or not. The body can be stubborn. If I can't see a difference the lymphatic system is backed up. I suggest increasing the intake of H2O, 100% Pineapple juice and our inflammation tea. The tea can be purchased on our SHOP tab or purchased at our location.

How many treatments do you need after:

360 Liposuction - 15 to 20
360-degree liposuction is a more comprehensive procedure that combines liposuction of the entire midsection to achieve an overall curvier, contoured figure from every angle.

Brazilian Butt Lift - 12 to 20
A Brazilian butt lift is a specialized fat transfer procedure that augments the size and shape of the buttocks without implants.

Buttocks lift surgery, also called " Brazilian butt lift surgery," is an increasingly common plastic surgery technique intended to firm and enhance a patient's rear end. Like other body lifts, butt lift surgery is useful for removing excess skin while toning and tightening the remaining skin.

Mommy Makeover - 20 to 25

A mommy makeover is one of the most unique cosmetic procedures available in the sense that it's not a single, defined surgery. Instead, a mommy makeover allows the patient and surgeon to work together to determine which surgeries and treatments will best help patients best achieve their goals.
As it is, a Mommy Makeover is typically comprised of roughly three procedures: a breast lift, liposuction, and tummy tuck. These three procedures are designed to address complaints that are common among mothers or at least exacerbated by motherhood.

Tummy Tuck - 20 to 30

A tummy tuck is a cosmetic surgical procedure to improve the appearance of the abdomen. During a tummy tuck also known as abdominoplasty excess skin and fat are removed from
the abdomen. Connective tissue in the abdomen (fascia) usually is tightened with sutures as well. The remaining skin is then repositioned to create a more toned look.
You might choose to have a tummy tuck if you have excess fat or skin around the area of your bellybutton or a weak lower abdominal wall. A tummy tuck can also boost your body image.

360 Liposuction and Brazilian Butt Lift 10 to 20

This procedure is perfect for individuals who are looking for a more contoured midsection, as well as adding shape and volume to your buttocks. The butt augmentation procedure uses
liposuction to remove fat from specific midsection areas. The removed fat is then processed, purified and re-injected into the buttocks area to enhance the shape and symmetry of the butt and
hip areas.

Arm Liposuction - 12 sessions 30-40 min
Liposuction of the arms is a form of plastic surgery to remove stubborn fat pockets on the upper arms. It can effectively remove bat wings and restore self-confidence.

Chin Liposuction - 12 sessions 30-40 min
Liposuction under the chin (submental suction-assisted lipectomy) is a surgical procedure performed to remove unwanted deposits of fat from beneath the chin (“double chin”) and to improve jawline definition.

Inner Thigh Liposuction - 12 sessions 30-40 min
Liposuction on the inner thighs could improve the overall silhouette of the thighs. Getting inner thigh liposuction can also eliminate problems such as thighs rubbing together. During this
procedure, the surgeon often treats the inner knees too; this to maintain the symmetry of the legs

Are you traveling out of the state for your surgery?

If you’re traveling out for town for your surgery for example to Miami make sure you have a massage setup everyday while your there.

Once you come back to Dallas you want to have massages booked with your massage therapist the next day when you get off the plane. The plane ride is very touch on the body. You may be very sore and tense on the plane. If you plan right make sure you have a massage appointment booked the next day after you arrive back in town. No worries if you don’t book accordingly. Continue to compress your body. Drink fluid such as water, 100% pineapple juice. We also have an inflammation tea that is created to eliminate the swelling in your body. The more fluid you drink the better.

What is Manual Lymph Drainage?

Manual Lymph Drainage is a type of massage based on the hypothesis that it will encourage the natural drainage of the lymph, which carries waste products away from the tissues back toward the heart. The lymph system depends on intrinsic contractions of the smooth muscle cells in the walls of lymph vessels and the movement of skeletal muscles to propel lymph through the vessels to lymph nodes and then to the lymph ducts which return lymph to the cardiovascular system. Manual lymph drainage uses a specific amount of pressure and rhythmic circular movements to stimulate lymph flow. Clinical studies of MLD conclude that further study of the practice is required before recommending it as an effective health treatment.

What are the benefits of Manual Lymph Drainage?

1. Benefits of Edema
Lymphatic drainage massage is effective for edema and lymphedema. Edema is the abnormal accumulation of fluid in various tissues of the body, whereas lymphedema is due to a buildup of fluid and toxins in the lymphatic system. Although lymph drainage massage can reduce edema, it can also aggravate severe conditions in which edema is a symptom. Some severe causes of edema include cirrhosis, kidney disease, and congestive heart failure. If you do not know the cause of your chronic edema, consult a doctor before getting lymphatic drainage
massage.

2. Before and after Surgery
Lymph drainage massage is also used before and after surgery, especially cosmetic procedures. It is able to increase blood flow, remove stagnant tissue fluid, and reduce stress and anxiety associated with surgery.
After surgery, lymphatic drainage massage will speed healing and reduce scar tissue and inflammation. It should not be performed immediately after surgery, however, due to the risk of blood clots and infection. Wait at least six weeks after surgery, or when a doctor clears you for lymphatic massage.

3. Strengthens Immunity
Since the immune system is directly linked to the lymphatic system, lymphatic drainage massage can stimulate white blood cell circulation, improve immune system function, and increase antibody production. This will fight off infections like colds or flu and reduce inflammation. People who are prone to getting sick are also encouraged to get lymphatic drainage massage on a regular basis. The general recommendation is a daily massage for one week or one massage weekly for a three-month timeframe.

4. Relieves Tension and Stress
Stress is known to trigger the sympathetic nervous system, and this causes muscles to tense up and increases respiratory and heart rates. However, lymphatic drainage massage will trigger the parasympathetic nervous system, which is known to relax muscles and slow the heart and respiratory rates.

5. Enhances Skin Health
Lymphatic drainage massage could also improve unhealthy skin due to poor circulation. This massage technique will stimulate blood circulation, bring nutrients to the skin, and remove toxins and wastes from skin cells.
The massage is known to be useful for eczema, rosacea, and acne, although it’s best to avoid this massage during the acute stage of any skin problem. Also avoid lymphatic drainage massage when skin is infected or inflamed, which could include heat, redness, pain, or swelling symptoms. This is because your skin problem may spread to other areas that are not infected.

6. Improves Breastfeeding
Lymphatic drainage massage improves comfort in the legs and feet during pregnancy, and it also enhances breastfeeding after pregnancy. Some women experience complications while breastfeeding, often due to the baby improperly latching onto the breast. As a result, breasts and nipples become sore and painful, and the ducts blocked. However, lymphatic drainage massage will help reduce swelling, improve blocked ducts, and decrease soreness in the nipples and breasts. This then leads to better breastfeeding.

What is a seroma?
A seroma is the buildup of fluids in a place on the body where tissue has been removed . They often occur as a complication of surgery but can also develop after an injury. In most cases, seromas are harmless and are allowed to heal naturally. Seromas are not related to cancer cells and pose no increased risk or concern.

What treatments help?
The treatment of Seroma is usually done with draining the swollen area. If the inflammation is large enough to cause discomfort and problems in carrying out daily activities, doctors normally recommend
surgical drainage.

Traditionally, common treatment encompasses aspiration of the seroma with a syringe and a 14- to 18-gauge needle, performed once or twice a week, and a local compressive bandage. The method of
compression depends on the region treated.

What is sterile drainage?

A sterile tube draining a body site, such as the abdominal cavity or pleural space, that is designed to prevent the entry of air and bacteria into the tubing, or the area being drained.

Incisional Draining

Fluid getting pushed out of your incisions. Let's clear up a lot of confusion in the industry. Pushing fluid out of your incision areas is not called lymphatic massage, it's called incisional drainage. We do not offer this. If you have incisions that are open and leaking, please cover them and bring extra supplies to re bandage them after each session.

(We do not offer this but can refer you to a facility)

Drain Removal

After your surgery people with high BMI's TT, MMO or surgeon preference may add a drain or two to keep your fluid flowing through your body. A drain may stay in for up to 14 days. Please allow your surgeon to remove your drain or call your PCP for assistance.

(We do not offer this but can refer you to a facility)

What is fibrosis?

The thickening and scarring of connective tissue, usually as a result of injury.

What treatments help?
Unable to locate specific info on "fibrosis" treatment. There were several different types of fibrosis (ie: cystic, pulmonary, myelofibrosis).

What is necrosis?
The death of most or all of the cells in an organ or tissue due to disease, injury, or failure of the blood supply.

What treatments help?

Treatment of necrosis typically involves two distinct processes: Usually, the underlying cause of the necrosis must be treated before the dead tissue itself can be dealt with. Debridement, referring to the removal of dead tissue by surgical or non-surgical means, is the standard therapy for necrosis. Avoiding injury to bone that is affected by avascular necrosis is the first line of treatment. This can include non-weight-bearing (crutches), etc. when a weight-bearing joint is involved. The aim is to attempt to preserve the affected joint and avoid joint replacement, when possible, especially in young individuals. Treating any underlying cause of avascular necrosis (stopping smoking and alcohol intake, etc.) and management of underlying diseases is essential to minimize progression of disease and to prevent involvement of other bones. Bisphosphonate medications, such as alendronate (Fosamax), have been shown to reduce bone pain and improve function in patients with avascular necrosis.

Additionally, medications to lower blood fats (lipids, including cholesterol and triglycerides) and blood-thinning medications (anticoagulants) have been used effectively in certain situations. The surgical management of avascular necrosis can be divided into joint-preserving procedures and
joint-replacement (arthroplasty) procedures. joint-preservation operations that delay the need for total joint replacement include measures that allow improved blood supply to the affected bone. These procedures are typically used in early avascular necrosis of the hip and include removal of a core of bone from the head of the femur bone of the hip (core decompression) as well as local bone-grafting procedures. Sometimes bone-resurfacing procedures are used in an attempt to further delay joint-replacement surgery. When avascular necrosis has progressed to a significant stage and bone has collapsed, joint-replacement surgery is ultimately required.

What is pressotherapy?

Pressotherapy is a body treatment that is typically used to reduce or eliminate cellulite. Cellulite consists of small pockets of fat that are located just beneath the skin’s surface that results in slight lumps or indentations on the skin, particularly on the legs and buttocks in women. The treatment is based on the concept that deep physical stimulation may be able to break down the build up of fat pockets underneath the skin and give skin a smoother appearance.

What is vacuum therapy?
Vacuum Therapy is a technique that is used to promote health and healing by: loosening soft tissue and connective tissue, scarring and adhesions moving stagnation and increasing lymphatic flow and circulation.

What is sauna wrapping and treatments?
Sauna Wraps apply infrared directly to your body, so no heat is lost, and the heat penetrates deeper into
the body.

Detox Sauna Wrap Treatment The sauna blanket that we use is a thermal infrared ray Sauna that uses a body wrap concept to help detoxify the body of unwanted chemicals and break up fatty tissue deposits.

What is skin tightening?
Skin tightening refers to a variety of devices, products, and procedures that make the skin tighter, by actually causing some degree of shrinkage and lift, or through creating the appearance of tighter, more youthful-looking skin.

What is EMS Microcurrent Therapy?
EMS is a form of electrical impulse therapy that’s used to stimulate muscles, causing them to contract by mimicking the signals that come from the central nervous system. EMS is generally not used for pain management, but rather, for the strengthening of muscles.

What is ab and butt sculpting?
Ab sculpting is a plastic surgery procedure that sculpts the abdominal contours to create the appearance
of a six-pack.
